The planks are built to read as timber — high-resolution grain, an ultra-matt face, and a bevel so each board sits as a plank, not a sheet. Under that face is either a sealed laminate core or a rigid, waterproof vinyl core. Both click together, stay quiet underfoot, and can run through kitchens and bathrooms.

Start with the room’s job — a quiet house, an office that takes chairs all day, a coffee shop that wants warmth underfoot — then pick the plank, the acoustic layer and the padding to match.
Inland heat, coastal humidity and altitude all move a floor. The plank, the underlay and the gap at the wall are set to that site — not copied from another house.
On the better vinyls a room can run 20 m × 20 m without an expansion strip. That is the quiet luxury of a high-end plank — one continuous surface through kitchen, living and passage.
Laminate still wants a movement gap at the wall and a transition where it meets tile or a different core. Vinyl with a stable rigid core can skip many of those breaks — we only add a profile where the floor type actually changes.
Coast and humidity ask for vinyl or a well-sealed laminate and an underlay that will not swell. Inland heat wants a core that stays flat in the sun. The underlay is chosen with the plank, not as an afterthought.
